Kei Tsukishima is the clever and cynical blocker who bears the “reason” of the Karasuno High School volleyball club. The charm of Kei Tsukishima lies in the gap between his calm and analytical ability and his hidden, passionate desire for improvement. As a typical INTJ (Architect) MBTI type, he is not swayed by emotions and always acts based on logic and strategy. In particular, his high observational skills to instantly see through the opponent’s movements and his persistent and annoying blocks based on them are the cornerstone of Karasuno’s defense. At first, he showed no enthusiasm for volleyball and behaved as a cynic, but as the story progresses, he reveals his sincere attitude toward volleyball and his craving for victory. Although he is a contrasting presence to the “hot-blooded” characters like Hinata and Kageyama, his figure of acknowledging their talents and establishing his own play style attracts many fans.
